McDonald’s launch a rewards scheme
Published online in 2022
McDonald’s, one of the nation’s favourite fast-food restaurants has introduced a new customer reward scheme with a twist this week following a successful trial run earlier this year. The popular marketing technique used by several fast-food chains joins a number of recent offers and additions by the company to get us Brits onboard. These include NHS discount, vegan-friendly menu additions and collectible pins.
From Wednesday 20th July onwards customers will be able to access their MyMcDonald’s Rewards within the MyMcdonalds app and earn points with every purchase they make. These points can either be exchanged for items on the menu or even exchanged to make a charitable donation!

Michelle Graham-Clare, SVP and Chief Marketing Officer, McDonald’s UK and Ireland said, “We’re incredibly excited to launch the MyMcDonald’s Rewards scheme in the UK. As well as rewarding our customers with our iconic menu items, we’re delighted to give customers the option of donating points to our brilliant charity partners, which we know will make an incredible difference to the lives of many thousands of young people and families across the country. We were delighted with the response from customers during our recent trial and I am so pleased we’re able to launch nationwide today.”
For each £ Spent by a customer, they will earn themselves 100 points which can currently be redeemed for 15 items ranging including drinks, breakfast, and desserts. The rewards that can be chosen are divided into three categories which increase with the number of points you require. With more points, customers can redeem a higher value item on the regular menu.

For just 1500 points, a customer can select the following: Small fries, Mini McFlurry, Regular McCafe, Hash Brown, Side Salad, or donate £1.50 to a charity selected by McDonalds.
With 2500 points collected, you can choose from a double cheeseburger, Veggie Deluxe, Bacon Mayo Chicken, Cheesy Bacon Flatbread, Medium Fries, or donate £2.50 to a charity.
Finally, by collecting 4000 points, the following items can be redeemed: 6 Chicken McNuggets, Big Mac McChicken Sandwich, Double Sausage and Egg McMuffin, Premium Salad or a £4 donation to charity.
